Through our continued relationship with Twickenham Stadium, EARS plc had the unique opportunity to provide communications systems for this summer’s epic Rolling Stones and Eminem gigs in June and July. Our systems experts Danny O’Sullivan and Pero Coetzee designed a unique and bespoke system using Motorola Capacity Plus – Digital Trunking which linked to Motorola DP3441 and the DP3661 hand portables to ensure clear and effective communication in a loud and very busy environment. This scalable, single-site digital trunking solution, expands the capacity for Motorola communication systems enabling more than a thousand radio users at a time to quickly and efficiently share business-critical voice and data communication on the same system without having to add new frequencies.

As EARS needed to ensure that every critical role from stewards to cleaning staff, engineers to management, and parking to hospitality were able to communicate with clear communication, the Capacity Plus solution was the best option. The handsets and accessories that were chosen also needed to reflect the high security needs of the gigs. Danny and Pero defined the Motorola DP3441 and DP3661 hand portables for these events because they come standard with three levels of scrambling or encryption for increased security. Where necessary staff were provided with specialist noise cancelling headsets to alleviate confusion from external noise around them.

Both the Rolling Stones and Eminem played to sold-out stadiums and we were delighted that all those who put on these fantastic summer events were able to communicate clearly and effectively allowing these monumental events to happen.
